Laura Hughes

Laura Hughes was born in Norfolk and grew up in the Indian River area of Chesapeake. She raised her daughters and began law school, graduating from Regent University of Law in 2016. While at Regent, she worked in the Civil Litigation Clinic and received the Counselor-at-Law Award.

Laura practices primarily in the area of domestic law, to include divorce, custody and child support matters, as well as protective orders. She also drafts Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Advanced Medical Directives. During law school and after, she volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and is also trained as a Special Education Advocate.

Laura loves working with families, empathizing with clients, and works hard to find creative solutions to help families heal in spite of litigation.

When not working, she loves spending time with her family, friends, cats, and traveling.
